I had a call from 08004118899 trying to persuade me to buy plan to cover a Hotpoint washing machine as according to them my warranty has expired. Since I have never registered this machine and I doubt the respected shop from which it was bought would give them my details I was suspicious of their company and proposed service. Looking at these comments it would appear I am correct in resisting their advances.

A cold call from a Russian-based phone ... one doesn't need to give too much thought to that ... I obviously didn't answer.

SCAM / SPAM machine talking claiming they are from HMRC and asking me to press one because a tax fraud was about to be issued in my name. I know HMRC will never contact me on the phone because i do have account gateway with them anyway. They can also send me a letter by post. the number showing on my phone is 0141 357 1051 Beware!

lots of calls from Crime Prevention company they will just not give up even trying to con a colleague into saying yes when I have already told them no!!! Had similar experience previously by a different name and they actually only ever printed 12 copies of their newspaper which we had been asked to advertise in! This is how they can seem legal. This person rang 2 of my sites demanding information and meter numbers, claims his name is Harry Brown and was very rude to both the girls on the phone. Claims to be from British Gas, I was given two more numbers that I MUST call him back, 08453300887 and 0330100059.
