A BANKING SCAM. Called by this number about suspect activity on my account. Banks do not contact you with recorded messages. I have checked my account anyway and there are no outstanding transactions pending.
claimed to be from my internet provider-asked me to confirm router was working ok as had received large volume of calls. When I advised I was not at home(despite the fact they had called my landline) heard whispered conversation with a workmate/supervisor,asked to perform the same check on router again I repeated that I was not at home. Currently in the US and just had a call from this number. I didn t answer but found this page so I ll endorse peoples comments about being contacted whilst abroad. I ve recently added my mobile number with the Telephone Preference Service but it can take a month before that kicks in.

He cleverly said he didn t know and would not ever access my computer because that would be illegal.
