Number on my phone a few times, answered this morning, the caller said they were from Talktalk. I had my doubts and put the phone down.
They keep calling me, in the states. I thought it might be business or a friend, but just a gent with an Indian accent starting a pitch. I think the "block" feature on my android should be on all phones, then these fellows will have to work for a living. Nice story, the one above "Manchester".

I got a call from this number this morning on answering A recorded message (american accent0 started the call saying that a legal writ has been placed on my name I should.... I cut the call and redialled the nr and when I engaged with the operator stating I wasn't pleased with bing subject to legal action the operator put the phone down on me. I read in the press that the STAR 9500 smartphone has been found to have a factory installed trojan virus. So I disabled my STAR 9500 and moved the sim card to an old phone. I picked the phone up and all I could hear was music being played. There was no second attempt after I put the phone down again.
Reckons they have a cheque for £3100 which they say is PPI I wrongly paid on a loan, a local delivery man would deliver the cheque and when it is cleared and the money is in my account he will call again to collect Paysafe Vouchers for £225 which I have to buy and show to the cheque deliverer before he will hand over the cheque. According to UoB website this number shouldn't be calling for student fundraising so this is likely a scam. "Our Student Fundraisers will call you from 0121 678 1000, but please note that this number is outgoing only. If you receive a call from a Student Fundraiser, they will be able to send you a verification email while you are on the phone to them. This email will come from [email protected] – a University domain email account."
