Caller said she was from BT checking my broadband connection.
I have received phone calls from this number a few times so I called to tell them to stop calling. The call went to the answering machine message "your call is very important to us, please stay on the line and wait for the next available agent" - no mention of company name (always a rubbish sign), I waited 5 minutes and they disconnected.

This number does not stop calling! I dialled the number back and pressed 1 to opt out. It asked for my full name, my full address and my phone number. (I gave all the details except my address) and THEY STILL CALL. I called Scottish Power directly to tell them about this and they did not know it was going on. NUmber appears to be from a company alled DeVere's. A financial services company who offer finnancial services such as wealth planning, tax optimisation schemes, moving final salary pensions to tax shelters abroad, etc. I have had no personal dealings with the company and cannot comment on their service. I was cold called. I assume they saw that I was a former employee of a blue chip company and they offered to move my final salary pension abroad. They could be perfectly legitimate, I cannot say.
Fraud I haven 't been to the UK for 4 years, they called me on my greek number!
SCAM. On 26.04.21 I received a text from +447585759635 claiming to be a HSBC Fraud Alert and that I had made a payment of £240 to Mr C Jones with a clickable link to confirm my details. I dont bank with HSBC, I never have! I didnt click on this link.
SCAM Indian caller with poor English said they were from a company called Reclaim and a claim that I had made had been successful and they had £300 and something money ready to pay me. I told them I had no such claim and they had the wrong number and I hung up.
