Scam call alleging to be from BT saying BT broadband was ceasing shortly. Checked direct with BT - not them but they had seen other similar scam calls as scammer tried to get customer account information

The caller said that she was from the UK Call Prevention Service. She said that I was registered but that I was still getting calls. She asked me to say my name out Loud???. I asked for the number that I should call back on and then researched it to find that it was, I expected an attempt to get information/money from me.

Said his company was called Essential which is not one of our suppliers, so admin screened the call, got rid of him and then we looked up the number to check if it was legitimate and found it wasn t.
