A neighbour received the same call, and was taken in, passed on to another person and gave bank card numbers (He has now alerted his bank). Someone called my landline on this number about 0815 this morning and it woke me up! No message left. It is a similar number to a couple of calls I have received this week. The previous callers claimed to be from BT, saying there was a problem with my broadband connection - which there isn’t and I told them so. It is likely a scam to get you to give information so they can hack into your system.
I think this is a marketing call. No message left, but they tried twice and the same day I received a call from a similar number with 2 different digits - again no message. When I called it (blocking my own number) there's an automated number saying the office is closed and it's 'something' communications (I didn't catch the first word). I figure if it was important / genuine they'd leave a message.

After looking into this more, turns out this number is linked to what is known as a locksmith scam. They will over charge and drill out your lock and damage your door instead of just lockpicking it. They are not on the MLA Approved Locksmiths. Although, if you are happy of being overcharged as hell, I am a victim of this scam, but they did come out within 15 minutes, gotta give them that.

I had the same phone call and pretty much word for word with the above comment. Checked number and saw comments. These people are dangerous.
The call was from a VISA fraud checking unit. However the number was the fax number for a garage in Penkridge, Stafford that closed down some time ago. Clearly scammers have cloned the number.

Covid19 - received a text message saying... "Tracing Notification: You have been in contact with a confirmed case of the latest variant. Please order a free test-kit via: trace.pcr-order-testkits.com/uk" Obviously not going to click on a dodgy link & I have test kits already to use. Scam.
Number showed as missed call and a blank voicemail was left for me - upon returning the call, the number apparently doesn't exist? I suspect its some spam mobile used for outgoing calls, that doesn't accept incoming calls.
Fraud - the cold caller had an incorrect version of my name which has been used by other nuisance callers and offered debt counselling which I neither sought nor need.
