Two different people have called me from this company over the past week, both pretending to be from EE and wanting to upgrade my "business contract" (I don t have one). I told them I wasn t interested but they were still quite aggressively selling, so I hung up and have now blocked the number.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. They call from this number twice a day under the guise of different company names - Direct Utilities, Business Utilities, Select Utilities, Regional Utilities. They are clearly dumb, because when requested to remove our details from their records and stop calling, they say OK and then don t do it, despite being told the we only have a mailing box address and therefore have no need for utilities. Go back to school, children!
