Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

I have received several calls to my mobile from this number recently. If I don t answer the phone, they don t leave a message and when I do answer it the caller appears to hang up. I am wandering if it is SPAM or a wrong number (but surely if the latter they would have left a message for someone else or spoken to me and discovered the error). I ve noticed several Manchester numbers being associated with unwanted calls to EE customers and wonder if this number is also being used by the same people/company.

Fraud - Robo message saying "This is 'bank' security, we have detected an unuthorised transfer..." Its a definate scam! What bank? If a transfer was "Unauthorised", then it should have been declined by the issuing bank, if not, the 'bank' would be liable! Reporting these calls to Actionfraud is a waste of time - nothing happens and it is a difficult process. It is about time this matter became an election issue! They said they are from the government and want to check if I am at home. I was isolating following my return after travelling abroad. I confirmed as I was isolating at home. The caller then wanted me to divulge personal details which made me suspect the call as the passenger locator form has all my details. I refused and at that point the caller threatened me and said I would be reported fro not cooperating and the threats got more, and he said I would get into trouble, at which point I hung up.
