Even went as far as writing the cheque out for her then getting her to sign it! Luckily she had the notice to phone the local CAB afterwards.
SCAM do not click the link. I phoned the number which seemed to actually go through to Vodafone themselves so I would assume the actual link to click is the dangerous bit.
I got charged for making a call to this number that I did not make. It is not in my phone's call log, but it is on my phone bill. Do not trust this number!

Woman with foreign voice said she was from Talk Talk. As i was a victim of the Talk Talk hacking I informed my family to hang up if anybody claimed they were from that company which she did.
Constantly phoning my mobile,I’ve actually told them I’m no longer interested in life insurance but are still harassing me,number is now blocked.
Same as others - recorded British female voice purporting to be HMRC, citing breach of some made-up UK Internal Penal Code and asking us to ring this number immediately. Caller did not know that UK numbers start with a 0.

My wife took the call and person with a Asian voice started to go on about my council tax and when i asked why he was calling at this time he said it was very important and i told him all government offices are closed and that this is a failed scam and he and his boss must be as thick as hell to call at this time then i put the phone down.
