SCAM 01392433831 called me today approximately 11pm on my landline - I don't say anything when i answer and wait for the caller to speak first - but when I took the call it had a very noisy background like a call centre, but no discernible conversations then the caller hung up. This is a typical nuisance call - usually from overseas with heavily accented BT/O2/Vodafone/EE 'Technician' wanting to access my accounts etc. They always hangup if i don't say anything first.

Same experience - missed calls and when you ring back there is a message saying number not recognised. My father also had a call from this number - my father asked sternly ‘who are you’ and they rang off immediately.

They wanted to know if i wanted to consolidate my debts; alarm bells went off and I asked "are you a debt management company?" He told me know. I asked if they were regulated by the FCA? He said no! Ok, so I recommended it would be worth being a bit more transparent; since they are an unregulated DMC called Best Ever "Loans". That doesn't seem clear to me. Also received a text saying I had subscribed to footy-tipster.com (never heard of them) at 4.50 per week which I thought was just spam. When the charge appeared on my account I contacted my service provider who immediately refunded the money to me and placed a premium rate call block on my account.

This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported (01244470043, 44,45), all the same range just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly as PPI offers and pensions (financial services).
