I've been receiving lots of calls to my business mobile starting 0843. All of them without exception disconnect after around 3 rings. No doubt to get you to call back - so I suspect this is a scam, even though I'm the first to comment on this number here.
AMAZON scam! Telling me that an order has been made in my name and £300 payment has been taken from my card!!! Press 1 to speak to an operator. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls.
strange unsolicited call from number belonging to: 'W A Read & Sons Ltd' Upon answer there was no reply and the phone put down. I called them several times over and got redirected to voicemail until they eventually gave up and answered. Lady picked up and I asked "What do you want"? No response and phone was put down. This happened two more times. They then disconnected the phone it seems.
Claimed to be from AMAZON PRIME stating that my credit card had been debited with the sum of £95 for my Prime subscription…n!!! If I have a problem with this PRESS 1 .. Needless to say I pressed nothing !! I know for a fact mine doesn’t expire until the 2nd September, 2023. They are trying to get you to panic .. Ignore and press nothing !!!!!
