We get calls from them every couple of months - typically one to my landline (silence and then the person hangs up) followed by an immediate call to my mobile (which I rarely answer). Everest does good-quality work, and has good after-sales service, but after using them once it s very hard to be taken off their telemarketing lists.

They called me, asked for me by name, and asked about an accident I've been in. Not been in an accident.
Had an unsolictored call from this company a few days ago. Asking about a car accident, I asked the woman for her company name. She said "Richmond Knight Legal". She said she is looking into an accident that I was involved in, and that there is about £4000 set aside for me as I was the victim. Please log all such calls with the Claims Management Regulator on 0333 200 110, as they are building up cases against such harrasment companies. Indian man rang me at about 10:30am 26/7/2021 saying that they'd just been upgrading my Broadband and noticed spam being sent to me and hacker activity. Wanted me to turn on my computer. I put the phone down. Have fallen for one of these scams before with someone getting me to download AnyDesk in order for the caller to remotely take over control of my laptop. BEWARE!!

Why cant BT stop them from using this most annoying ploy to answer the phone? nIt s really getting on my nerves.So much so I might even cancel my land line.
I had a number of missed calls from this unrecognised number and, because of the recent talk talk hacking incident, I decided to try and find out who it was from instead of calling back. The other comments here seem to suggest it s a marketing cold call so I ll just block the number from future calls.
