Whoever they ask for tell them to remove your number and do not confirm any information with whatsoever; it will be sold to others even if you answer no to questions like "have you had an endowment policy" (see another post elsewhere online. They will call from a spoofed London number but seem to have call centres all over the place. My mum got a slightly dodgily worded text from this number quoting the last four digits of her Co-operative Bank card and asking if she'd made some transaction or other (which she hadn't). She phoned the bank (not the number that sent the text) and found that there had indeed been a number of fraudulent transactions on her card. So the number is very probably legit, but I recommend you phone the bank to be on the safe side ????
