The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. This number has called me several times in the last few days - foreign accent (Asian) - call themselves BT - definitely scram calls !
I have received several calls to my mobile from this number recently. If I don t answer the phone, they don t leave a message and when I do answer it the caller appears to hang up. I am wandering if it is SPAM or a wrong number (but surely if the latter they would have left a message for someone else or spoken to me and discovered the error). I ve noticed several Manchester numbers being associated with unwanted calls to EE customers and wonder if this number is also being used by the same people/company.

Female caller, said she was calling about our BT account (we don't have one) then said it was because all lines are operated by Open Reach. Wanted to 'test the line' and see if we qualified for a discount. Finally said she was calling from One-Com. All very suspicious.

SCAM Saying they are calling from virgin media, about our slow Internet router. They will proceed to ask you to download a software on your pc and then steal any banking details and passwords. We end up having 10 of these calls a day, it's so frustrating. I end up laughing and saying some choice words or going along pretending I'm doing what they are asking. When I say I'm not with virgin media they switch and say they are an it department for all Internet providers. Do not fall for this!!!

Numerous calls from this number early morning to late asking for someone who has never lived at this address. Will not take verbal confirmation of this and insist on me emailing them. Darn sure they aren t getting my email as well! Now blocked with BT Choose to Refuse Service! Worth every penny.
