Pretending to be from Virgin Media Cyber security department, informing me that there is someone in California using my IP address for illegal purposes, but he would help me sort it out. Refused to tell me the name on the account or the account number because it was a recorded call, having told me it was a secure line and that he would "prove" to me that he was from Virgin if I gave him the information he asked for.

This number has called twice now. Can't comment on who or what it is because my landline phone range once each time! No doubt it is some unsolicited spam or similar.
I haven’t answered this call yet as I tend to not answer calls where I don’t recognise the number - I figure if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail. I rang this number (01252 860999) back because I didn’t know who had called and don’t know anybody in Aldershot. Automatic voice said “The number you have dialled has not been recognised”. I think it must be a scam caller. Annoying or Dangerous?
