They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Orange/EE - offering new tarifs and mobile products. Be aware to not call back - line is with shared costs...
SCAM Said he was from Sky Protect. New my cover was about to expire, my name and postcode. Wanted to give my a discount. I already had a letter about my renewal, so it must have been a scam. He didn't know my policy number. Said I would get a new policy number. Phoned Sky Protect direct. They new nothing about it.

Message said 'you have been called by synergy consumer club - press 1 to talk to an advisor or press 2 for your number to be removed' it then hung up. I've naturally opted out so will wait and see what happens. Doubt it would work if I had witheld my number so I allowed my number to be visible.
