A large number of people have been called by the criminals using this fictitious number according to other sites. Their aim is to gain the confidence of people and persuade them to allow access to their computers so they can infect them. Yesterday I was out all day and when I returned I found no less than five calls from a slightly different but equally fictitious number, 01614379874, but still equally recognisable as fake from anyone who has had so many of these calls as I have. Scam recorded message to my mobile claiming my internet was about to be cut off because of malicious usage. This follows a number of similar calls to my land line.

Rang me three times on my work number. Can't ring it back number unobtainable.

Vanquis courtesy call, i have a card with them so not surprised. checking all ok with my account, (payment was a day late) certainly not a scam

Left some spurious message about getting in touch with one's bank. It went in one ear and out the other.

I have had numerous calls from this number over the last few months and ignored them but this time I phoned back (with-held number of course)and the female answered with what sounded like Vidicom Basics. This company has been calling our business address informing he is from e-on, asking for personal details. This company is a harassment caller and has called this morning several times with a very aggressive tone. We have had to be firm but he is still persistently calling. We have verified with e-on that they have not had contact with us and told not to give nay personal details. AVOID

They are a company called TECH VEDIC, they latched themselves onto McAfee, they conned me last year and I got the police and fraud department involved. I got some of my money ba...

It is a scam and we did transfer money but stopped order..all the amounts are for just over 2k paid into our account and we transferred just under 2k back into their bank. you ll see the money go into your account then they re desperate for you to pay the overpaid balance, they then cancel the dodgy cheaque within 2 days...Don t do it, the tel number is bogus and so is the address...

Pressing 9 does not remove number from the call list, pressed 5 instead to speak to an operator (Scott) who promptly put the phone down when I politely tried to have my number removed, redialing the number gets you a recorded message stating the call was sales related and nothing to worry about!

Sick and tired of this number repeatedly ringing my home number. When nyou pickup all you get is a continuous beep beep sound.
