Definitely a scam, automated call stating my National Insurance number was at risk of being put on hold due to it being linked to illegal activity.

Lady knew my last name and claimed to be from a reputable building society - Nationwide. However, she persisted in asking my first name so after she kept pushing, I told her Mrs . She read it out loud but then realised it wasn t what she wanted and so pushed further n asked my full name. I told her just my first - no middle names, then she said Thank you Mam and hung up!

This crap company has called about 4 times in past couple of weeks. Each time I requested that they remove my number from their database as I think they re dispicable, low life, preying on the vulnerable. A friend who had a car accident was totally taken in by a similar company, as they called the day after her accident, so she thought they were from her insurance company. A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to ASI Environmental Services (eg asbestos removal) based in Southampton.

I rang them back and ascertained from them that they had bought a quantity of telephone numbers from various sources and their computer was ringing them trying to get a positive response to their FREE BOILER initiatave. They are based in Macklesfield SK10 1AF
