Purported to be calling from Revenue and Customs on a Saturday morning

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. Been billed £26.13 by Virgin for two calls from/to (?) this number!!?

Caller named knew my name and my insurance company. He said he represented them which I don t believe. He said I had an accident on a certain date and he was calling in regards to nuisance calls. I didn t report any nuisance calls. I told him I didn t want to speak because his call sounded supsicious. Don t answer this number.

Just had this number call (Liverpool code, with non-geographical sub-code 808) - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will now be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. This explains the silent treatment from any real person (low-lifeform) at the other end. Let the phone ring until the other end gets fed up and ends the call, then dial 1471 and note down the number. Google it to see what scum has tried
