The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. This is a new, and weird, one for me. Called my landline but disconnected when I picked up (now they know this is a live number,,,damn!!). No message left so I'll never know if I have been left millions of pounds from an unknown benefactor who needs me to handle his money, for a small fee, to help them evade paying local taxes or being claimed by a fictional Government department.

We received a strange call from this number but seemed to come via New Zealand (but the number is too long for NZ). The caller asked me how I was etc, etc. but not a good line. When asked who she wanted to speak to hung up.
