this caller phones late evenings, being an OAP this is very unsettling

Had a call at approximately 11.10pm that sounded fraudulent. Have a close relative in hospital with a severe heart condition so have been waiting by the phone for urgent news of their status. We have never had a call of this nature on our landline or at this hour and due to the circumstances it has caused enormous and unnecessary distress. Overwhelmed as i write this.

Called but left no message in response to my "this number blocks withheld and unrecognised numbers" message, but it is clear from the numerous other reports that it is a standard Indian "Your commputer is infected" criminal fraudster. What surprises me is that many people do not seem to realise that the number displayed is spoofed and that the call actually comes from an Indian criminals call centre. Sounds like the same as everyone else. Apparently, there s a warrant for our arrest. The start of the message was cut off so it s not clear what I m going to be arrested for, but considering the number he wants me to call isn t one from HMRC I doubt it s genuine.

I dont understand why the person would say from your bank instead of from say Barclays bank or Natwest, why say from your bank?
