The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. Man with Indian accent. Said his name was Jerry. Called me Mrs [first initial of my oh s first name + his surname] which anyone can look up in the phonebook. Asked me if I was this person. I didn t tell him. Said he was from the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). I just pressed the red button.

This appears to be the number of the "OK today" button, used in sheltered accomodation.

Just got a call from this number asking for someone with the correct surname and initial but different first name. I said they had the wrong number; she then asked me if we lived at an address that I d never heard of; I said no; so she asked me if we lived in an area without mains gas supply; I said no. She thanked me for my help, and that was it. I have no idea what it was all about???

Keeps calling but leaves no message. When I answer they hang up straight away.

I have received several calls to my mobile from this number recently. If I don t answer the phone, they don t leave a message and when I do answer it the caller appears to hang up. I am wandering if it is SPAM or a wrong number (but surely if the latter they would have left a message for someone else or spoken to me and discovered the error). I ve noticed several Manchester numbers being associated with unwanted calls to EE customers and wonder if this number is also being used by the same people/company.

I ve been getting calls from this number on and off for a year and two things happen I answer and total silence or they attempt to make me buy a higher priced data pack and when I state that I don t need a higher priced data pack and even if I did I would just change it directly with their app they start getting more aggressive about it. My sister also just got a call from them and I just told her to hang up if they start poking for personal details which they did, me and my sister have blocked this number
