Called today said he was Steve from TalkTalk and my internet connection was about to be shut off for 15 days. He would send a new router and cable to avoid this. He was about to ask me to follow instructions to re-set router, etc when I asked for proof he was from TalkTalk. He hung up! Funny though, we are actually in talks with TalkTalk about a new router and seem to get scam calls right after we speak to them!

It seems all of these kind of unsolicited messages are not above board. It s likely if you respond, it will not only potentially pull you into a cost trap

Letter from a company called tracesmart with this number on it stating that my personal information has being accessed very suspect .

I got a call from this number and they were obviously trying to get personal information from me. First they asked me to tell them who I was to confirm my identity (even though they claimed to know who I was because they were calling me!). Second they told me that I needed to complete a verification process online by going to a specific website on my computer. The page they told me to go to sounded like a scam and they were trying to get me to fill out more personal information.

Safe number, Got a call from them and it turned out to be life saviour call.
They are based on wharf industrial estate in bury, Manchester and Blackburn. The staff who call have no idea, nor choice of who they ring as the system selects a number at random from their data, and only when the line opens do they see your name and address etc. They are legitimate in terms of what they are offering (a free hearing frequency test at your local football club/hotel) however, if you will receive any money should a claim be successful is questionable. Some idiot claiming to be from some investment firm in Canary Wharf. Claimed I'd spoken to a "colleague" and this was a follow-up call. Sounds like a boiler room.
This number keeps ringing me, i don t answer because I don t know them.
A man kept asking the same question again and again. I thought perhaps he was drunk or on drugs. I asked him to remove my number from the database. He hung up. An hour and a half later, another man rang from the same number, after I told him what had happened and what I thought of his colleague, he asked if he could just try to find me a cheaper quote for my utilities. I asked if all their staff are incapable of understanding the English language. At which point he told me he would remove my number.
