Scam and/or phishing attempt. It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.
SCAM - Foreigner speaking bad english saying they are from Virgin Media and that I have a problem with my router. Asking to ue the Windows + R key to run eventvwr. Do not do this or give any information. Kept on asking the caller to state my Virgin Media account number. they eventually put the phone down on me :D
No response from caller when I picked the phone. Possible scammer.

01225292655 is an automatic scam voice mail phone number that rang me saying I owed £1100 to a debt offshore and also £300 to some other thing.
This was the private number of Matthew Smith, until its deactivation from inactivity in 2017. It was originally carried by the UK network, Orange, until that network was folded into EE, along with all other Orange numbers. First being activated in 2001, this number was attached to a Philips Saavy mobile phone for the duration of its activity. The voicemail personal greeting of the 12 year-old Smith, could be heard for fifteen years after the fact in the way of “Hi. Sorry I can’t answer your call right now,
Have had calls from this Number in the past, but I don`t answer and I did not this time. So I am glad I looked up the number on your site which is very good.

A 'heads-up' for yet another scam. Today so far we have had three calls on our land line, apparently from "banking security", an electronic type message as such, saying we have pending a £300 payment to Amazon and a £1100 international funds transfer, press 1 to pay or press 2 to cancel.

Call was a recorded message saying that I had 2 transactions off £750 off my Credit card this morning if this was not you press 1. I didn't do it but I did check with my accounts and it appears to be a scam. As they didnt say which Credit company either. Plus surely they wouldn't use a mobile phone either. Call center Was a very persistent man who spoke so quickly I couldn't understan who he said he worked for (even after I asked him to repeat himself more slowly ) saying he could save me money on my phone mobile phone and constantly asked how much I was paying. Told him I wasn't interested and he continued to ask the same thing. Not told him if I wanted to do something about my phone and bills I would so so myself and he still continued. I eventually hung up on him when he was still asking for how much.

They failed to provide my full name, my address, or any information as to how they got my number other than 'from the government' It's a bit funny because they tried this last month as well off a different number when the government contacted their office to get in contact with me that morning too, they know nothing but your number and partial name

This number is being used to carry out impersonation scams through WhatsApp. Serious pressure being exerted claiming to be a family member in financial trouble. Fraud carried out via a Metro Bank Account sort code 23 05 80 using various account numbers and Metro Bank don't seem to be concerned. Has been reported to own bank and Action Fraud. This number is causing untold distress and needs to be taken out of service.
