He did not use my name or say what domestic appliances he wanted to talk about, or why he wanted to talk about them. What sort of weirdo rings strangers and tells the he wants to talk about domestic appliances?

The callers from this number are scammers. They called claiming to be 3 Mobile and wanted me to upgrade to a new contract when I only just renewed my contract with the real 3 Mobile a couple of months back and my existing contract is locked for another 10 months. When I asked the idiot to email me the offer to review, they asked me for my email address and if they were really 3 Mobile they would already have it in their records. Getting so fed up with calls from this number, and others including what appear as mobiles, telling me that my "home appliance insurance" with them has expired, or is about to expire, and asking for my bank details so that it can be renewed. Very strange that the company insuring me (they're not, of course) has no idea what appliances I have. Calls coming 2-4 times each day.

Claim to be from BT Openreach about issues with our router. Shame we’re not with that company. She kept insisting that even though we weren’t with them she needed to tell us about these issues with her router. When I challenged her about the fact that it was a scam and how could she live with herself and that BT had nothing to do with our router and couldn’t see our router she stuck to her guns that she was legit and needed to tell us what was happening with our router.
