Call was regarding a recent accident. Answered to what initially sounded like a real person, but the responses were delayed and were clearly automated, and then said it would transfer me to a specialist who could help me. Blocked the number.

REALLY HALIFAX. IGNORE THE PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS A SCAM THEY ARE 100% WRONG. Turns out my emergency credit card had a fraudulent payment on it. I’ve never used the card so Halifax must have leaked my details, which is highly worrying. I was suspicious so I called the number on the back of my bank card to be safe but yes this is 100% Halifax’s fraud number. If you don’t believe me then please, please, please call the number on the back of your card because there has been a fraudulent attempt made

In most cases they just provide silent calls to let you call them back. DON'T DO it, it will cost you a fortune. Did someone answer any number of this range or this particular one? I use the app from these pages to block whole ranges of similar numbers, works fine...
