Just to confirm, after my previous post I reported this number to the police, who said it definitely is a scam, and that Microsoft would never call you about this sort of thing. These people will generally want remote access to your computer to "fix a virus" or something like that. They show you some files that they know every computer has and tell you they re harmful, which is completely untrue. They then use the remote access to steal from you. Answered this call and was met with a dialling tone ... Googling the number showed it to be linked to "Ambulance Chasers". They won t get a chance to call again as I ve blocked it on my iPhone. I have been inundated with calls in the last week from different numbers, but don t know why as I HAVEN T had an accident! Hopefully the law will be changed soon to bin these nuisance calls.

It is almost certainly a scammer using a spoofed number. You cannot report it as it does not originate from the UK.
