Called from tesco bank regarding loan application.
This number rang at 11.48 this morning. Recorded message (male) purporting to be from BT about suspicious activity on my internet account which was going to be disconnected. I have had these calls before so I just disconnected and blocked the number. Last week I had an unsolicited call from a different number, again a recorded message about something to do with grants for insulation etc. My number is obviously in the hands of yet another group of scammers so expecting a few more!

Called claiming to be Scottish Power. I stupidly went through the security questions (address and DOB) as I am in process of leaving Scottish Power. He then said I had a balance to pay on the account and would I like to pay by card. I had suspicions though and said I would do it online - he asked why, at which point I was really suspicious and called up Scottish Power who didn t know the number, and said my account was in credit. Said he was from an IT company that I had used recently, when I asked where he got my number from overrode my questions saying he had got it from a database and continued saying I had used one of there services recently. Told him my number was on TPF and he replied not interested and it didn t concern him what I was on. Very aggressive male caller refusing to listen. ended up telling him (very rudely) to go away and hung up

Rang me claiming that I had an accident on the road in the past 2 years, I have not. People were heard laughing and messing around in the background. Do not trust them, ask them to take your name off the list as I did. Price comparison websites for car insurance had to have passed on me and my partners number as he got the same call straight after me
