SCAM / SPAM Indian call centre with spoofed number. Lots of these calls are blocked by BT Call Protect and/or my number blocking handsets. Best investment I have made though the odd call (usually a new number) gets through. This number was one of the few that did and had a bit of fun wasting their time. Called saying someone had gained access to my computer and was using it for illegal purposes. Couldn t hear the caller properly and they got frustrated and hung up.
Phoned saying my internet would be shut down as ive been using it illegally unless i speak to an advisor.
My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. They estimate readings and send someone over to check for themselves. Southern Electric have made a note of this number. I advis

We have had 5 calls from this number this week. Husband challenged them why he was calling and was given a load of abuse. Don t know if this has anything to do with it but we recently changed providers from Sky to Plusnet, also we were bombarded with calls like this a few years back when we switched from BT to Sky.the timeing just seams a bit odd
