SCAM Unusually, this was actually an English person on the other end of the phone rather than a call centre setting from India etc! The number rang my works mobile at 10:05 09/05/2023. The person on the other end spoke very well and professional, saying that they were calling from HSBC, and were making me aware of activity in my account that looked suspicious, that money was being taken out by an advertising firm. Called on our landline. Recorded message from Bank Security (didn't bother to say which bank). Apparently 2 transactions on my card (which one?!) £300 to Amazon and ..... I gave up at this point as it's obviously a scam. All our banks are based elsewhere so wouldn't phone from a local number and have mobile phones as first contact. Our number is recorded on Telephone Preference service but that doesn't seem to make any difference

Robin called. Sounded foreign. Said he was calling from the call blocking and scam department. When I asked what company he was calling from he said "the national call blocking company limited" i said there was no such thing. Curious how this was 24 hours after "microsoft" called me and I told them I didn't believe them..... Told him the only legit call blocking was The Telephone Preference Service, and he hung up.
This is a scammer's number. They claimed to be from EE accounts department to say my last 2 payments have not been made via debit order and could I press 1 to update my account details. He was very insistent that I do it right now or my account would be closed my phone cut and costly penalties incurred. I hung up as I am not and never have been with EE.

Got a call claiming to be a person from my college...a college I have not attended for more than a year at this point, their accent didn't seem English at all and I could barely hear them, I have yet to have a call back from it since the call got dropped.
