This is a scam. Told I owed money ($4000) form a credit card I had from 2010 to 2016. Would not give me proof of the debt. I never had a credit card during that time period. Said they are going to try to take $8400 from my bank account by serving papers to the county clerk that is in my county. I spoke to a couple of attorneys which said it sounds like a scam. Called me 6 times in the past 3 weeks. I have missed all the calls as they happened when I am working. They have never left me a message which makes me assume either dodgy or cold calling. After reading other people's comments below I have blocked the number - if it is green peace as some suggest then I have no idea how they have got my number. I have never donated to Greenpeace however I may well have signed petitions but I don't think you usually give out your phone number when you sign a petition

Same woman called last month from a different number (029 218 2591) asking the exact same thing for the previous month's billing. Pointed out that I'd personally called Gazprom about something else (in the last two days!) and mentioned these calls and that our accounts are actually fine and she hung up?!

Indian guy calling himself David, claiming to be calling from Curry's with a promotional offer. I didn't wait to find out what, I've had several "Manchester based" calls recently all offering promotional offers. They are a real nuisance. I just keep blocking them.

Messaged to inform me of a delivery I missed from EVRI. With a link to re-book a delivery time. I went to the official website to track my delivery, and the number on the message that the suspected scammer gave is not recognised. Also I checked my CCTV and no-one had tried to deliver anything.

I did not pick up and no voicemail left - the caller ID on my smartphone said it was Three but Three are my provider and would leave voicemail. Internet search says the call originates in Russia? I am surprised that Three use a Russian call centre?

Repeated phone calls, (within working hours). This business sells magazine deals/subscriptions - but if you buy once they don't stop phoning (unless you firmly say/threaten them a few times that you'll report them). They're not the worst by any means.
