Automated call From local number. Message said fraudulent transaction has been found on VISA, press 1 to cancel this transaction. After hanging up at this point, the caller appeared to stay on the line for a couple of minutes to catch me making an outgoing call to my bank. Verified this by calling my landline from a mobile which rang engaged, a short time later I tested my landline again and it was clear.

Don t know the number so won t answer but 10 calls in 9 days is Harassment.
SCAM / SPAM - Robo-call pretending to be HMRC informing me of a fraud case against me, threatening arrest and fines etc.. Dangerous scam.
Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 12179005xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with financial services, trading on-line (also reported from different countries - international call centre). Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
Dont trust called Vodafone its a scam!!

SCAM. Automated call “your debit card has been used to make payment of £600 sent overseas. Press 1 to confirm, 2 to speak to our investigations department”. No bank name mentioned. Number will be blocked.
