Safe number: this is the number used by Apple is you ask for a phone call to verify your Apple account. It's actually in Texas in the US, and not Liverpool - it's a quirk of formatting. I know because I've just been through the system and dialled the number back to confirm.

driving me crazy with sheer amount of calls
This number calls me very regularly and says nothing. I have googled the number and it is from SAAFA in Northern Ireland. My guess is that they want people to ring back the number at their own expense so that they can then be told all about the charity. This is unfair. If they WANT money they should be prepared to pay for the initial contact. They will make more enemies than friends by doing this.
