SCAM - Said I have authorized a transaction to someone through Halifax and provided a link if it was not me...I don't even use that bank so they are clearly trying to scam through that link!
Received call from a "withheld" number claiming to be from BT IT Dept (even quoting my BT a/c No), that my internet connection had been hacked and wanting me to go online to resolve with their help. When I confirmed BT internet was not my ISP they started reeling off other ISPs names none of which were my ISP either. I asked for their number and was given 02031290252 and told if problem not fixed in next 30 mins my internet connection would stop. Searching number on Google confirmed this is a scam.
Unless you missed out a digit, this is too short to be a genuine UK number therefore odds on it will be expensive to call it.
