They originally had a legitimate use in filming - to make the action appear realistic but avoid some poor devil on a random number getting dragged out of bed at all hours. Phoning every day several times a day. First call usually just after 8am. Sometimes there’s silence, other times a heavily accented Asian man from (always incoherent bank name/financial services) mispronunces our name and insists my spouse left information online requesting information. They get quite aggressive when you deny this and/or don’t wish their calls to continue.

Had a call from this number telling me that they can clear my debt problem (which i dont have) after seeing what he had to say i asked him where their company had got my details from and that they have breached my personal data he started to stutter and said that someone would call me back within 24 hours to discuss the company that sold my info to them. No returned call after 24 hours......pathetic really

SCAM 02085998914 called with recorded message claiming to be from HMRC saying warrant was issued in my name. Said if I did not press 1, I would be arrested shortly. I hung up and blocked ???? the number. This is clearly a dangerous scam. Do not answer the call or press 1. HMRC would never do this. Beware.

Genuine bank of Scotland phone number. Received a text about a debit card transaction that wasn’t me. Phoned them and it’s their fraud team. Brilliant service from them.
