I received call from this number claiming to be reporting that my desktop computer had been hacked. Suspicious. Caller broke off when I expressed doubts about veracity of his claims.

I was called by this number today, the automated message told me my amazon prime account had expired and that my credit card would be charged £95 pounds for renewal, if I was unhappy about this, press 1. Sadly for them, (lucky for me) I don't have an amazon prime account, hung up imediately. SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND This was a recorded message saying two potentially unauthorised payments had been made on my card - one of £300 and an international payment of £1,000 - followed by the option of approving the payments or speaking to someone about them. This sounded like a scam ( there was no mention of which bank the call was from), and so it turned out to be when I checked with the bank.

This is my house telephone number in Oswestry Shropshire. A 90 year old lady in some distress phoned me on this number today to ask why I had been contacting her. She told me she lives in Eastbourne and had been contacted from a number purporting to be from this one asking for finacial information. I explained I had not phoned her but it was probably a phishing scam and suggested she blocked it. I feel I needed to report this scam and this number on her behalf. Scum does not adequately label these people.

It is a scam. This number was used to call me to say someone had fraudulently ordered a £750 i phone from Amazon and I should press a digit on my phone to be put through to someone who could help me. Checked my acct and nothing amiss.

Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?
