Caller said he was from British Gas and requested security information before he could continue call. When I refused told me that I needed to phone British Gas. I did so on a trusted number and they said could find no reason why they might have called me.

As already stated, this is a fraudulent Indian TechSupport Company "Ozemioinc", they specialise in Scam Calls and install malware on computers. Be forewarned, they call Europe-wide, and are supposedly based out of Lake Town in Kolkata, West Bengal in India.

Some guys called me asking if I was Mr. R. (I'm a woman btw). I said "no" so he said "forget the name then, your number was put as a first point of contact following a minor incident involving a car". SPAM was called from London by an Indian man who insisted he was my network provider and then asked who was? I wouldn't tell him so he again insisted he was my O2 network provider to which I replied "no you're not!" he hung up, have now blocked this number

Same here with the Outlook voicemail that looks like it was going to expect me to log in. Email was littered with assurances about the sender being trusted and the contents having been scanned by a virus checker. Was for an email address I once used (only) for a pension provider. The addresses must have been leaked.
