SCAM - Company saying it was virgin media and that it wanted to connect to my computer to repair the errors on my router. My computer is a virtual computer going through a VPN so it mimics I am going through a different ISP so I knew this was fake

Received a call to say the cover on my washing machine was about to expire and they wanted to get the renewal done before the 1st April and they had managed to reduce the price. I was then asked if I was using the same debit card? I asked how much the premium was and was told it £9.90, I asked if this was per month or for the year, which was not answered, but I was asked for my sort code. When I asked for confirmation in writing the phone went dead.
