A so-called phone company offering upgrade. They said my provider giffgafff had supplied them with my number. A likely story.
This is a scam. The company, claiming to be called Global PC Network and representing Microsoft rang up claiming that a laptop we own had malicious software on it that had been downloaded from the internet. Other websites suggest they try and charge something like £180 for a couple of years support. It s all fake, they don t know anything and are using a scatter gun approach since most people have a PC or laptop running Microsoft they know they ll get lucky enough times.
Unsolicited call to an unpublished number - draw your own conclusions but it isn't going to be a legitimate call.
