This number called me this morning and now I can not call them back

Called three times in one hour, recorded voice. We hang up
Sounded suspicious, Foreign accent, said from BT, wanted to check my download/broadband speed - wanted me to go to my computer and put in an address - said I could check the speed on BT home page which I did, but he persisted needed more information... I told him to send me verification of being from BT and also email me the instructions he wanted me to follow so I could check them out........ heard no more as yet!
