Thought I was confirming my phone number to a McAfee website, closed browser within a minute (when I realised it was a scam site as it just had mcafee in the web address but was nothing to do with mcafee.com) and within a minute, a man with an extremely heavy and thick Indian accent called, immediately said he was from Microsoft and wondered whether I needed any help. SUSPECTED SCAM - My phone didn’t display ‘suspected spam’ message and on this occasion, I answered it, heard first few seconds of a recorded message: claiming to be Mastercard Security department. Hung up & blocked number.

Called from this number 08.31 today - caller claimed to be from my bank and that there had been suspicious payments on my bank card. This was followed by the usual requests that I press numbers to confirm or reject these payments, I did neither just hung up and checked my bank information.
