purported to be BG and the number was from Edinburgh where i live. Asian accent and this is the second time over the past few months a scam call purporting to be from BG has followed up a genuine call from BG. Seems someone is perhaps giving out customer info to scammers. i ve mentioned it to BG but they seem unconcerned.
Silent call
I have had numerous missed calls from this number and I would like to know who's calling. Thankyou
Asked for me by name, said they had got my number from a database and I would be eligble for compensation. My only thought is that it could have come from the company I claimed PPI through as I do not give my mobile number to other places.
Infoserve - They call up pretending to be yahoo, bing or microsoft. They waste a lot of time trying to get you to access online accounts etc. Then at the end it s just an elaborate sales pitch, and they ve deceived you the entire way. How this ever works for them I don t know. Don t be scammed!
SCAM
I just received a call this afternoon but due to reception never got " missed call " message till later

Scam
Pretended to say I signed up for something and was calling to discus bonds/stocks etc. By "ticking a box". Told him it wasn't me and if I did it would have been an accident. Sounded like a real conman throwing out big names and trying to engage me fragulantly. Probably praying on the elderly

SCAM – They claim to be from peoples postcode lottery, which my dad is a member of, saying he had won a free discount card. Wanted bank details to confirm the prize. They were actually calling on behalf of Supercard Black and he had “won” a postcode lottery but they set up a £200 direct debit for a trial that had to be cancelled within 14 days. No fees were clearly mentioned. Looking at TrustPilot for Supercard Black it seems this is a trick that they like to play and are happy to defend.
