I didn t just receive "a" call (as in one) from this number, but several. It s some sort of telemarketing hotline of British Telecom. If you aren t already a customer of theirs, they try to persuade you into changing your provider. I think I was polite enough when I told them I wasn t interested and would like it if they d refrain from calling me again, but apparently there is no way to get these people to stop.
It's someone from Royal Mail's business department.

Company called, claimed they had purchased a number legally immediately when questioned. Number is a private number that has never been distributed to any third party. Reported to FO for malpractice.
