usual spam caller, puts phone down when answered. When called back the automated taking person sounds dodgy so avoid it.

Just received a call from this number, a female with an American accent, who wanted to ask a few questions (a survey, not selling anything). Asked where she got my number (we are with TPS) and she said BT. I explained there s no way BT would give out (or sell) a number registered with TPS. I explained it s illegal to coldcall TPS-registered numbers. I asked if she was calling from the US, she said no, it s a UK company but the call is being made from an offshore address. I said goodbye.

The only way to get at these people is to go onto the Information Commisioner s website and report the number. If enough of us do this, they will investigate the number. There are very heavy fines for companies who do this. Report them every time you get a call - it is very easy to do.

I once answered the phone and asked who is it and they automatically cut off. I find it strange how this is becoming the norm all of a sudden. I refuse to change my number though if you call me, I think it is only right that you introduce yourself first. Since they did not I know they have something to hide!!! Claimed they were informed of our car accident. When I asked for their name or company, they hung up. Calling them back, I was unable to call the caller ID from their call.
