Bank and card data phishing attempt
Fraud Sent WhatsApp messages to my mother saying "Hi Mum, this is my new number, I broke my phone, my day has been the worst, I don't want to talk about it, I am really stressed out", I'm paraphrasing, but that covers everything that was said in the conversation except Mum asking "John, is that you?" which they replied "yes". Fooled her, and she didn't even mention it for a few days, only found out because she called me on FB messenger to ask how I was

SCAM / SPAM
Called claiming that it was their job to review my life insurance as it hadn t been reviewed in a while. Pointed out that a) its not their job and b) I d like to know where they got that info as I am a financial advisor and I take care of this myself! She got aggressive and rude so hung up. Avoid at all costs.

Callers pretend to be HMRC and presumably if you don t say you think they re fraudsters later in the call try to get you to give them money either by credit card or bank debit card. I will report them to the police

Scammers UK
seems like a hoax saying my ip address has been compromised unsure yet but asks you to call them and a charge will be applied don't bother
Claims to be British Telecom and that all calls and data services will be terminated unless you press one, otherwise press two. The idiots behind this have never heard of caller ID, which shows a geographic number, which is not something that BT would use. Secondly, they talk about data services, which is not a term that is used in the UK for landlines. Thirdly, they were phoning on a number that is not even associated with BT!
Phishing. Very annoying. Contacted and reported HMR. Don’t answer and block that number.

Claimed to be BT Openlink ringing as they had picked up a degradation in internet speed since last night. Our internet seems fine and our ISP is not BT. He said they handle the underlying connectivity which is true but I said that I would deal with my ISP for any issues and they can contact BT if necessary. Possible scam.
