I got 2 calls from this number but missed them. SO when I also called it back an automated (American accented) voice also said "this number is not in service"

They called my mobile number - where did they get it from? I didn't get to it in time and they didn't leave a message. It was an unwanted and unnecessary interruption...
Called n left no message. Dont know anyone in that area so puzzled. Is this call centre flogging something? Like ppi?
