SCAM A man telephoned me today 27 July 2021 around 8am saying something about my computer - I am elderly and cannot remember just what was said except that it made me very alarmed, he seemed to know a lot about me. I have reported it to the fraud police but thought it worth adding it to this site. He did not even hide his phone number - 0161 273 4722 - but testing it later brought the BT answer 'The number you have dialled has not been recognised'. I hope this helps someone else who might have been targeted

Marketing calls using a different name every day actually selling PPI. Keep phoning up to 5 times a day using random call centre dialling. Just let the phone go on to answer phone (if it rings that long) at least that way it costs them a call. In theory if no one answers numbers like this that they don t recognise then they will have no joy and call centres will be eradicated once and for all ... well in theory any way!!!

Mark Edward called from AAB Legal insisting I have had an accident. I assured him that I haven t where he persisted in asking if anyone in my family had been involved in an accident. I highlighted that my number is registered on TPS and that he shouldn t be cold calling like this. He didn t seem to care. I have blocked AAB s number. Please can the law punish this sort of cold-calling?

This was the second identical pre-recorded message within the hour. The first was from abroad. Both claimed to be from my bank (unspecified) saying that two transactions had been made that were unusual, please press 1 etc.

Calls from this number are not a scam and your details will have been passed over by the Job Centre Work Coach to the Adviser. Called asking if I had PPI, said I didnt and never have done, then said its not just on loans, is on mortages aswell, said I had neither. Asked to be taken off database but apparently they cant do that until i had answered all questions. Number blocked!
