SCAM / SPAM Scammers pretending to be HMRC! They pretended to be an HMRC call centre and pick up the line from a queue asking what it is about before they got my name in order to check and find out. Once they got that, they told me I am wanted for fraud, which is a criminal offence and asked if I have a criminal lawyer I can contact. They then proceeded to say there are 4 different allegations in my name and an arrest warrant, that my home address will be marked for fraud and my car will be confiscated as

Called me by my maiden name from years ago and an incorrect postcode. When I told them this wasn t correct, he asked me to give him my new information, I asked why they needed it. He said it was for a survey on household brands . When I challenged him on why he needed my specific info and who was going to get it he became agitated and kept saying I ve already told you why and hung up.

These callers are persistent, aggressive and thoroughly unpleasant [We have received 40 calls all from different numbers ranging from Ireland to Yakutsk in the Russian Federation]

Same here with the Outlook voicemail that looks like it was going to expect me to log in. Email was littered with assurances about the sender being trusted and the contents having been scanned by a virus checker. Was for an email address I once used (only) for a pension provider. The addresses must have been leaked.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 16893259xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with Pension review company, PPI. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

Received scam email allegedly from Santander claiming a scheduled transfer has been set up and to call this number if I didn't scedule this transfer (I don't have a Santander account).
Said it was BT & to press 1 to connect to BT or 2 to disconnect internet. Same old scam, just a different number to block k & report.
