This number was purporting to be HMRC - when called the lady with a carribean type accent stated that it was her personal number, and promptly put the phone down.

They are scammers pretending to be Virgin media. They claim that your internet box has been compromised because of suspect malware and then pretend that they want to compensate you by putting money into your bank account, but really they try and take money out of your account. They are Asians and the number emanates from Orpington Kent.
they tried me too at 13.27. no idea who, no message and silent call.
Its a scam HMRC message. I received a voicemail asking me press 1 to be connected, otherwise "a warrant would be issued in my name straight away and I would be arrested shortly"!

Told me he was from some debt adclvisory company,I asked politely for my number to be removed, he replied with ,No. I said I would contact the relevant authorities and he said whatever . Very rude, can t remember which company he called form and somehow his side of the call wasn t recorded on my call recording app.

Called our TPS registered line. A long pause after we answered, probably due to a telemarketer s predictive dialler, then a woman repeatedly asked "are you Mr xxx?", then hung up when we asked what company she was working for. Same pattern as other criminals/scammers use.
SCAM Male Indian voice. Gabbled too fast to be comprehensible, so cannot report nature of scam.
