I'm not entirely sure, but as this call was from a number abroad, I felt it most likely is a scam and decided not to answer. It was the third call from an unknown number I got today and the two earlier were obvious scams claiming to be from some IT department (these had the correct national prefix, though).

PPI company, aggressive, very pushy, told not to call back and they called again in minutes. Both callers self-righteous and aggressive.

Said he was Jason from work,and asked why I am not in work, had my first and last name, told him I don't work, he then asked do I pay tax and if so why, I rang off. Foreign...
House phone rang, I answered. & nobody spoke. I tried to instigate a conversation & still silence. The line then went dead. Obviously automated connection
Phones up trying to con my mother into having a water cooler, he was politely told to bugger off, do not give into these bullies, they only want your hard earned cash. Scum of the earth, well Wolverhampton anyway! Bloody Dingles!

I think the guy said he was from Rapid Accident Claims, claimed that he had a ridiculous amount of compensation set aside for some very minor damage so got rid of him.
Said they were calling from BT to get my email to get an IT data update?
